Eggs production and eggs quality

Eggs production and eggs quality

Egg quality is the most important price contributing factor in both, table and hatching eggs. In another words, cost effectiveness of layers depends on total number and quality of eggs (Monira et al. 2003). Factors that can cause low financial income in egg production can be numerous. For example, blood-sucking ectoparasites such as Dermanyssus gallinae, can indirectly decrease number of eggs because of presence anaemia and increased mortality in flocks. On other side, there are factors less obvious in decreasing number and quality of eggs such as mycotoxins. Respectively, ochratoxin A is mycotoxin that influence the metabolism of vitamin D/Ca absorption and carotenoids leading to changes of important table eggs quality parameters e.g., egg shell quality and colour of yolk.
